New School year - new stuff to learn!
What kind of palos are you studying this year?
I will definitely be re-taking Caracoles (fan), Tangos and Sevillanas/Classical and castanets. Not sure about other classes yet, but there's lots of exciting stuff to choose from - Guarjira, advanced Tangos, advanced Bulerias etc. If only I were competent enough to take the higher level classes. I'm absolutely dying to attempt a more advanced Bulerias (it's one of my favorite palos).
Can't wait for September!

Wed, August 16, 2006 - 9:05 PMOoooh Alegrias! I haven't had the chance to study that form properly yet and I would really love to. I tried a workshop once and we 'messed about/improv'd' a bit to Alegrias. It was a lot of fun. That music and dance always makes me smile.
Is Bambera similar to any other form (Rumba? Bulerias?)? I've never heard of it before and now I'm intrigued :)

I am also going to try Garrotin - for which we need Sombreros - I think it will be fun :D
It's all about the props this year (castanets, Sombrero, two different fan classes.....)
It'll be weird to do 'empty-handed stuff' again hehe.

I start on Monday. I am taking 7 classes this year - 2 advanced, 4 intermediate and one elementary.
I'm only a beginner, so am sure the advanced classes will be quite spectacularly out of my depth.
But hey, it's all experience innit :)
